Holiday
Coast
The Holiday Coast of New South Wales stretches for 300 fascinating kilometers from Coffs Harbour at the northern end, down to the twin towns of Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest. The great diversity of landscapes within the region means there is a wealth of wonderful things to see and do and an enormous variety of activities to suit all ages. The mosaic of farms, forests, rivers, beaches and coastline is nothing short of spectacular. The
sub-tropical city of Coffs Harbour is the capital of the Holiday Coast,
and is located halfway between Brisbane and Sydney. Enjoying one of the
best year-round climates in Australia, Coffs Harbour is naturally invigorating
and dynamic, but above all, it is relaxing. Long stretches of beach are
framed by lush rainforest to create a magnificent environment in which
to fulfil dreams and create fond holiday memories. The Great Lakes lie at the southern end of the Holiday Coast. True to its name, visitors to the Great Lakes region are treated to a vast expanse of picturesque lakes, unpolluted and uncrowded surfing and swimming beaches, national parks, seven state forests and a natural ecosystem that is inhabited by exotic wildlife and plants spanning more than 145 kilometers of coastline. Nearby, the sunny region of Port Stephens is blessed with an amazing choice of beaches and a crystal clear, pollution free waterway that is more than twice the size of Sydney Harbour. Known as the ‘Dolphin capital of Australia’, the Port is inhabited by a host of friendly residents of the human variety, as well as koalas, pelicans and, of course, dolphins. STORY
