South
Coast
Just south of Sydney and stretching to the Eurobodalla Nature Coast, the South Coast is an unspoilt region of bush-lined beaches hidden in seclusion where the only other company you will have is a lone kangaroo basking in the sun, or a playful dolphin, seal or penguin sharing the waves with you. Inland reveals picture-perfect scenery; rolling green hills accompanied by the sweet sound of silence and the aroma of eucalyptus trees. This is the home of some wonderful historic villages. Share the South Coast national parks with no one else but the wildlife. Take leisurely strolls through rainforests, or go climbing for spectacular views over rugged ranges. Just four hours south of Sydney and a leisurely eight hours drive from Victoria’s state capital Melbourne, the Eurobodalla Coast is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline to be found in the southern-most reaches of New South Wales. The majestic Great Dividing Range, numerous lakes and rivers and more than 60 named beaches provide a special hideaway for those in the know. The wildlife is abundant, as are the recreational possibilities. Whales, fur seals, penguins and a dazzling array of native and exotic bird life live side by side with humans, who can enjoy water sports such as fishing, swimming, diving and surfing. The stunning region is home to some of the most beautiful and secluded beaches on the coast, with bustling town centres offset by quaint villages. STORY
